Today on the blog, another podcast! Beth Harpaz, editor of CUNY SUM, interviews historian Vincent DiGirolamo about his new book, Crying The News: A History of America's Newsboys.

DiGirolamo offers a dramatic retelling of American history that centers newsboys by highlighting their importance to American print and political culture. Crying the News: A History of America's Newsboys explores the various ways newspaper carriers and sellers survived in a variety of labor systems and, in doing so, points to the ways legislation regulating child street labor was a product of both children’s organizing as well as reform movements.
