East Village Historical Walking Tours. Every Saturday morning at 11:00AM. From Native American trade routes, Dutch settlers and the Stuyvesant farm to the "melting pot" era, immigration, speakeasies, street gangs, the Yiddish Theater and social clubs; from industrialization of the city, labor movements, protests and riots to the beat generation, yippies, punk rock and more. Learn about modern day struggles: Charas/El Bohio, St. Brigid's Church, gentrification, the changing landscape of the community and much more. There is something for everyone!
