"Satan's Seat" New York During Prohibition
Northeast corner of Bowery & Houston St

Created in conjunction with WNET New York Public Media, a walking tour based on the 2011 Ken Burn’s documentary “Prohibition”. On our walk we will discuss and explore the history, politics, culture and speakeasies of New York in the Roaring ‘20s – one of the most volatile eras in American history. Stops could include: John McGurk’s “Suicide Hall”, The Black Swan, Chumley’s and sites associated with Margaret Sanger, Al Jolson, Carrie Nation, and Fiorello LaGuardia. Prepayment Optional Many Big Onion customers prefer to pay in advance. Prepayment also helps us determine group size and appropriate guide numbers. To preregister and pay for your tour, click the “Book Now” button below. You will receive an e-mail confirmation and receipt once your order has been processed. We regard a senior one 65+ years and a student anyone enrolled in full-time study. Please bring ID indicating senior status (i.e. age) and/or full-time active enrollment. - See more at: http://www.bigonion.com/tour/prohibition/#sthash.pAWFqW2e.dpuf
