History of Finance
Wall Street

In the company of an experienced Wall Streeter, this three-hour walk will focus on how New York began its commercial and financial dominance in the United States. We'll explore the origins of the stock exchanges and discuss the various booms and panics that plagued their early existence. We'll explore the role of Clearing and Settlement in the financial markets and discuss the innovations that allowed the markets to operate at the speed and volumes they do today. We'll visit the sites of the New York Stock Exchange, Morgan's Bank and the Federal Reserve Bank. Context is a network of experts who lead in depth walking seminars in the world's cultural capitals.
