Greys Papaya,NYC

When was the last time you had two hot dogs, and a tropical drink at this establishment ? Yesterday,I was thinking about this place all day for some odd reason, and I would have given twenty bucks to have that for lunch.LOL I don't think I have ever gone back to the City & not stopped in there at least twice ! I usually stop in the one on 6th. Ave. in the Village. I have also gone to the one on 72nd.St.on the west side. THE place to go,for a fast, and good lunch,if you are on the go.

Re: Greys Papaya,NYC

There's around a dozen location in Manhattan at present. 33rd & 5th. 38th & 8th. 86th & 3rd. The names vary from the original.  Ed how about the  G. Village Orange Julius place back in the 60's?

Hard to believe Papya King founded by Gus Poulos in 1932, still stands at it's original location
86th & 3rd N/W Corner.

Orange Julius on 8th Street was a great stopping point for me on my walks through the village.  After spending an afternoon in Wash. Sq. Park. I would grap an OJ and then look at all the discount books in the store next door.

Re: Greys Papaya,NYC

Anytime I get near Manhattan I try to stop in at Papaya King on 86th and third avenue.  Two hot dogs and a papaya drink- great lunch.

I do miss the Papaya King on 86th and 3rd. When I was a kid I stopped there on my way to the Movies
