Charlie, it's either Saks or Lord and Taylor.  Probably Lord and Taylor.

Re: N.Y.C. Trivia

Years ago I remember my aunt telling me that  FAO Schwarz was the oldest toy store in the city, from the 1860s. Not only do I not know if that's true, I don't think it fits into the oldest dept. store category. But hey, the prize money sounds good so I gave it a shot.
Sorry 28th, but if Charlie is offering 500 bucks for the answer,  I have to go with MacTAC.
Sorry Charlie, I couldn't resist LOL!!!

Re: N.Y.C. Trivia

Lord and Taylor is the answer.( since 1826 )
In the clause it states that if more than one person guess the answer, the offer is void. LOL

Re: N.Y.C. Trivia

Your phrasing leaves a lot to be desired.

Lord & Taylor began on Catherine Street; it happens to be on Fifth avenue now.

Re: N.Y.C. Trivia

Charlie- That was really low of you.  You never stated that in your original statement.
then to blame it on the computer is really down low..  You just  welshed on your friends.
You should split it between the winners. I hope you learned a lesson!!
Don't promise things you can't do. Shame, Shame!!

Re: N.Y.C. Trivia

notknickerbocker---I totally forgot about mite boxes. Haven't been a Catholic in many years, haven't heard of mite boxes since grammar school. I used to look forward to them every year. Everybody trying to see who could colect the most money for the poor. Thanx for the memory.
