My era at Christadora House began around 1943 till it closed unexpectedly around 1948. I can still remember the name of my house club,,,,,,,,,,,The Gremlins. I also remember another club, The Royals. We played basketball, fenced, swam and etc. The dues were to the club we belonged to for our jackets. We made extra money by running dances every Saturday night in the playhouse on the third floor. We paid at that time, I believe tewnty-five cents to join Christadora. Mr. Toomey, Jake Lodenberg and Mr. Shaw (gym coach), were the people who ran the house, I still remember.
Some of the names in the club still resonates in memory.......Monkey Nadel,Dave Storm,Seymour (Ackey) Ackerman, Jack Clerico, Lennie, Herman Pickles, Kenny Lippert, Harold Silverman and another became assistant Commissioner of the Police force......last name ended in berg but I don't remember the full name. Dave Storm would know!
