I'm trying to obtain some detailed photo's of the Police Arlington Statue from Cypress Hills Cemetery and the four plaques that were affected to the pedestal. The statue was designed by Maurice Powers and was erected in the late 1800's to honor the bravery of the Police during the Civil War Draft Riots. The statue sat in Cypress Hills Cemetery from the late 1800's till 1966 when it was stolen and never replaced. Now it appears that there is a movement to replace the statue possibly back to it's original design. So my question is does anyone have any knowledge of where there is a detailed photo of this statue.
I already contacted the cemetery and the Brooklyn and Queens Historical Societies. Along with the Police Museum, Municipal Archives and the City Hall Library all with no luck on the photo's but plenty of general information. So now I turn to this discussion board for help.
Thank you in advance.
