Misrecordia Hospital - East 86th Street
Your best chance of getting any direction would be to contact the St. Joseph Church on 87th Street. I was an altar boy at St Joseph and served mass on ocassion in the chapel at Misrecordia Hospital. It was usually at 6:30am mass. St jospeh hosted the responsibity of sending over an altar to asist with mass on Sundays for their chapel.
There was an order of (french - ?) nuns that worked in the hospital and knew every one of the doctors...hence your best chance of finding someone...if still alive.
If I recall, the hospital moved to the Bronx years ago????? And most likely their should eb some form of contact with who the nuns were. Like the other person said. Do a little googling.
And, suince you posted on the Gothan web site, which is all of New York City, I would post a message on the Yorkville Message Board, which is the community where the hospital was located. You just might get a better repsonse to your query.
