East End Lanes

Who remembers East End Bowling Lanes located on 80th St. between York and East End?  My father used to take me there in the 60's to watch my older brother bowl.  Loved that place.  Also, does anyone remember a restaurant named the Pontiac?  I believe it was located somewhere on First Avenue.  My brother always hung out in this place.

Re: East End Lanes

I practacally lived there in the winter time in the 60's  We had a bowling league there. In 68 or 69 we also were served beer in the little bar attached to the bowling alley. The woman who bartended name  was Ray . Very cool lady. Served us only beer and cut us off at 3 . Thought it was better then being out on the street maybe. We were 16 and 17 year olds The Pontiac was close by on York ave or1st ave 80th to 81st west side of ave. and we hung out there also

Re: East End Lanes

My brother dated the managers daughter. The manager was a Lady named mrs Lohn.
I used to get to bowl for free saturday mornings before the league started.
It was a great place to hang out.
I loved the mini pinball arcade next to the snack bar.
and it was 2 floors too!
