I'm interested if anybody remembers and has photographic evidence of a huge fiberglass tractor trailer statue that was on top of a factory that was located in Brooklyn and clearly visible from one of the major highways in lower Manhattan or Brooklyn. The truck was built as an advertisement in the 1930s or 1940s and the scale was huge - the tires were approximately 10 to 12 feet high.
I had a friend from LI whose grandfather helped build that truck and I remember him talking about it.
Does the statue still exist? If it was demolished, when did that happen?
Any help would be appreciated.
