Brrr---

The snow is over--14 inches here in Eastern Suffolk. The cold is here to stay for awhile. 9.0 degrees here. My son in Buffalo has 1.0 degree. My son in Rochester has -2.0. My daughter is vacationing in Fl. Her timing was great. How're things in NYC? The newscasts say that the snow removal was improved over the last storm, except for the upper east side. I used to be a cold weather lover. No more. Of course, when August arrives, I'll be whining again. Stay warm & safe, everybody.

Re: Brrr---

Looks like NY is back  to the winters of old. My sympathy goes out to all the people who have to travel in the snow and cold. I did it for years, tain't much fun.

I remember my mom saying many times during the winters of the 50's and 60's... Not much different than living in Canada except it's damper eh.

Re: Brrr---

Apparently our new meatball mayor is not a student of NYC history. Plus, he's playing partisan politics.
The Upper East side was miserable yesterday with traffic back ups. And Brooklyn, specifically Park Slope, was clean. In fact, the Upper East side was plowed once at about 5PM and not again until overnight.  Since the Upper east side didn't vote for him, we don't get plowed. Dinkins did the same thing with North East Queens and was a one term mayor. If this arrogant ass doesn't change his tune, he'll be out in 1 term, too.  Oh, and his wife (?) has appointed a chief of staff.  Arrogance, no?

Re: Brrr---

The Sanitation Commissioner certainly has enough years with the Dept. to  have done a better job. Seems like they went the cheapest route.

Re: Brrr---

As a matter of fact, I do.  This Deblasio is Lindsay II. And the city will suffer for it.
And Sal, the commissioner is the fall guy.  The idiot mayor didn't declare an emergency soon enough.  It's up to the mayor to call the shots. This jerk was shoveling snow in Brooklyn,
He'll be a one term mayor, for sure.
