Re: Happy New Year

Just got out of the hospital after almost a week's stay. I wish everyone a Happy New Year and a lot more health than I have at this moment. Hope the rest of the year doesn't mimick the beginning.

Re: Happy New Year

Hello BoardBuddies: I too would like to wish all a happy & healthy New Year! I was down in Boca Raton for Xmas & new years eve. Had a great time;however due to the terrible storm up north(New York) my flight was cancelled. My wife and I had to quickly rent a car and drive home as she had to be at work on Monday. The ride was not fun and we did it over 2 days. Hope to never have to do that drive again. My wife plans to retire July 1,2014 so we will never again be under the gun to have to rush home if our flight is cancelled or delayed. As for me, I must confess that I love retirement and am seriously contemplating moving down to Florida (Boca,Del-Ray area) within the next 6 years. My wife and I can't stand the winters in New York anymore. Well, that's it for now..A happy and healthy New Year to all my board buddies on this site. Be well....DrSteve(retired).

Re: Happy New Year

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. Sal, wouldn't it be wonderful if your wife and I could make a pact not to be hospitalized again this year. But, thankfully this has been my first visit for COPD, as I usually  am able to be treated with anti-biotics, and I know from your past messages that she had muitiple stays in 2013. I guess that shows what I've been hearing that there is a lot of sickness around in these early weeks of this new year. Let's hope we all make it through  this season.

Re: Happy New Year

Jimbo,Fran and Jack thanks for your support.  With my wife on portable oxygen just about 24/7, this has become a full time job for me.

Healthy New Year to all!

Re: Happy New Year

Hi guys, and yes we hope for a healthier new year for ourselves and our families. I myself have a form of asthma that comes and goes. I don't believe I could ever handle the cold snowy North Eastern winters anymore as they would probably do me in. The South Western winters are relatively mild in comparison to what you have to deal with. Where I live we do get some snow and  inclement weather in winter but for the most part it doesn't last long.

Re: Happy New Year

Sal & Jack & from 28th street: Sal my thoughts are with you (as caregiver), your wife, Jack & 28th Street who have to live with COPD. I pray that you all have a better healthier year. Sal... I did not have the opportunity to eat at Mario's Osteria Restaurant when down in Boca;however I will make a note of it and try to visit that restaurant on my next sojourn to Florida. Regards to all...DrSteve
